Hi! I’m Dwayne, the founder of RefinedFitness, a brand I created to offer a holistic approach to fitness. My journey began with overcoming my battle against low self-esteem through consistent exercise and healthy eating. With newfound confidence, I ventured into local men’s physique contests, eventually placing 2nd in the 2018 ABC Fitness Competition. Building on that success, I won the 2022 Barbados Nationals Men’s Physique Tall Class and proudly represented Barbados twice at the CAC Championships and the Roger Boyce Elite Pro Classic.

Known on social media as "Bearded Breadfruit," I’ve coined the term #BreadfruitSzn, which reflects my unique and motivating approach to fitness.

My passion for helping others started when I helped my brother recover from the brink of Type 2 Diabetes. That experience inspired me to earn my ISSA Personal Trainer Certification in 2019 and ISSA Nutrition Certification in 2020. Since then, I’ve worked as a personal trainer and group instructor at various fitness centres across the island.

I’m currently pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Sport Science because I’m deeply committed to understanding the struggles young males face in society today. I recognize the pressures and influences that weigh heavily on them, impacting their sense of self and outlook on life. I believe that by fortifying your physical state, you strengthen your body and nurture your mind, building resilience and clarity. This leads to becoming a more centered, confident person, better equipped to handle life’s challenges with purpose and well-being.

My philosophy is all about turning challenges into opportunities for personal growth. By blocking out negativity and staying focused on your goals, I believe anyone can unlock their true potential, no matter the obstacles they face.
